Writer-Producer
Dawn Kirk-Alexander is a winner of the Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame Award for her Screenplay entitled “Madness.” With a MFA from Columbia University Dawn was a finalist in the Carl Sautter Memorial Scriptwriting Competition, and the Nichols Fellowship. As a freelance writer she has written “Came & Left”, “ER,” and done spec scripts for “Gilmore Girls” and “Third Watch.”
In addition to being an award-winning writer, Dawn has produced several award winning commercials and PSA’s for TBWA/Chiat/Day and Grey Advertising.
Dawn previously performed as a freelance line producer for the television show “American Gladiator”, along with several music videos directed by F. Gary Grey (“The Italian Job” & “Be Cool”) and director Paul Hunter (“Bulletproof Monk”).
Producer-Director
David Massey is an Academy Award nominated producer with a BA in Communications and a MFA from the American Film Institute. Massey has produced several films, commercials and a television series. Projects to his credits include: the Oscar® nominated motion picture “Last Breeze of Summer”, the NAACP Image Award winning docudrama, “Men of Courage”, he was commissioned by the British Virgin Islands to direct and produce “Nature’s Little Secrets”, a film promoting the people, events and beauty of the region, he filmed a documentary called, “Dare To Struggle, Dare To Win” that was a documentary about the women’s movement in Africa, and most recently filmed a documentary on Fespaco, Africa’s largest and oldest film festival, which is narrated by Danny Glover.
In addition to producing and directing films, television shows, commercials and documentaries; Massey has been the recipient of several prestigious awards, including: The Martin Ritt Scholarship, Eastman Kodak Second Century Honoree, inductee into The Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame, The National Education Association for the “Advancement of Learning through Broadcasting”, the National Black Programming Consortium “Prized Pieces”, Heartland Film Festival’s Crystal Heart and is a voting member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
